Pulled from sale staus Funk Pro Comp

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Giom6:
It was listed as "mid sized" when I bought the frame and fork (from a long gone business called 'The Bike Beat' and they certainly have a story themselves).
I could give measurements but they really don't correlate to diddly on a frame like this.
Suffice to say I'm 6 foot 2 inch and it fits me very well indeed (1.88m-1.89m).
Obviously I have a lot of seatpost, so I imagine that someone shorter could fit well enough also....I have had friends about 100-120mm shorter than I, and lowered the post, no one ever complained about anything other than the touchy rear brake.

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Here's something....
I don't know if you guys have ever had these over there.
The shift levers.
They have a switch that in one position has SIS for Shimano indexing system (detent shifting) and it flips to F for friction shifting (non index) incase your cable gets out of synch while racing.

Have you guys seen this before ?
(hoping that multi image upload works)

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Yep, that's the norm

Re:

Like Adrian says, that's pretty normal. They have it in on all the shifters I've seen from Campag to Suntour.

I have one of the very first Funk Pro Comps ever made.
I bought it in 1987 and it is a 1988 year model.
That's very early. What serial number is on the frame? Thanks.

There is no serial number anywhere on it, it never had one.
I honestly do not even know what area of the frame would have had the number stamping.

If anyone knows what area it is *supposed* to be imprinted on I will provide a detailed photo of said area.

Re:

If it helps my frame number is stamped on one of the drop outs (on the thin edge).

Re: Re:

Mine too.....mine are underneath the dropouts so you'd have to flip the bike to see it.

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Quite serious, never had a serial on this bike and I bought it new.

See if you can spot the area it should be in and I'll do a macro photo of it if need be.....

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Oh yea...
Nothing on the underside of the bottom bracket either ?!?

BTW, I figured WTH and just sent the folks at Funk Cycles a link to this thread asking them to either acknowledge or discredit the missing serials :)
I truly hope one of them shows up, and I did give them details of who I bought it from and when so they *might* possibly have an old shipping manifesto or even a possibly a memory since they weren't exactly established or even known about at that time.
