I have car OCD a bit as well.... I am very finicky about the paint finish and have hundreds of pounds worth of chemicals and a daddy machine polisher to ensure everything is tip top. It's a problem I tell you. :D I have rapidfires on my Proflex, but never considered what pressures might...

Haha! Thanks for the clarification, and yes "bolts" was beefing it up a bit - they are little grub screws. I am 99% sure the levers are set out as far as they can, which is fine for me - have large hands. (And you know what they say about men with large hands...

Silly question, but does anyone here leave their bike in "8th" gear when stored, so the springs of the two mechs are not under any (or sod all) tension? After building up my front mech this evening I realised how much pressure there must be in the spring if left on the biggest cog - I have...

But what do the tiny narrow bolts that appear to screw into the brake levers from above do? I've never touched mine but noticed they were unequal amounts out, hence the question. I've just setup my V brakes to how I would like them, and now I find this! :D

Absolutely. Just sorted me out with some samples of Marin stickers I wanted and he even changed them based on photos I sent him. :) Actually, speaking of which, I'd better bloody pay him this evening! LOL :D

Well, this evening I managed to fit and cable up my CORRECT :D front mech and was able to actually ride the bike a bit up and down the street. It sure felt weird to be back on full suspension again - almost to the point of feeling unsafe. Also this evening I fitted new brake pads all round -...

Just took delivery of a front mech. Looks spot on to what I need and well packaged up. In true Ebay style. "Great Item, Great Seller, AAAAA++++++!!!!!1111!"

I'm sorted now on this. Hopefully my replacement mech will be waiting for me when I get home tonight and I can have a crack at getting it fitted and getting the chain on, and gears all sorted out.

After something along the lines of a rear crudcatcher. Have got one sorted for the front in black, so ideally would like black to match. Not worried about marks etc as I can blow over with a bit of black spraypaint as a last resort.... Anyone got anything lying around?
