So, here's my eBay bargain (well, at least I think so) '91 or '92 Saracen Conquest. 21" as well, my perfect size. This is exactly how I received her (not even given her a cursory wipe down) ...so first pics before I start building her up with more befitting kit...

So, the missus just turned up with this. This thing's absolutely mint. It's hardly been ridden, no scratches to speak of, just a quick wipe down with a damp rag and it's as good as new! Looks as though it's never been left out in the rain - even the skewers were still lightly greased when...

Sturdy is an apt description....my mate had one of these bitd - I remember it well at it was the only bike I came across that was heavier than my Raleigh Mustang!

These are nice....just down the road from me, as well.... if it was the pink version and a bit bigger, I would have been on this....

OK, so although I still have no idea of what this is, I'm going to build it up anyway. I was hopefully going for a period build, but as this frame seems a lot newer than I previously thought (seems the general consensus is 94 or later), that's not going to happen as my entire parts bin...

Right, I stopped off on the way home from work and picked up some digital scales from Argos (been meaning to get some for ages!) Measures 19.5" c to top and weighs in at 2058g including the seat clamp. Never weighed a frame before so no idea if this is light or not. Any more ideas?

Ok then - mine's a curved Saracen end cap, so I guess mine is later. From all of this, I'm almost convicted its a 94 or 95...just need to id the model!

@ Drystonepaul - the colour of your frame seems more "blue" than mine - mine seems more purple. As you say though, difficult to tell just by comparing photos.

Thanks, Drystonepaul. Here's some more clues: I am virtually 100% sure that this is the original colour and hasn't been resprayed. The paint quality is far too good and it has a almost pearlescent effect that I've seen on other Saracens. I've checked and it takes either a 27.2 or 27.4...
