    Not really retro magura question

I have a set of Magura Julie from the early 2000's. The ones with the oval cap on the reservoir. Sadly the front one is starting to weep oil from around the reservoir cap. To compound the issue the allen key bolt is rounded off. Firstly, can spares be obtained? If so from where? Or...

Bone headed question #4 ---- Pace RC36 and brakes

The post last night was fueled by wine. Will try to explain better. Once I had removed the shims (ty Marin man) popped the V brakes on the mounts. When I got the forks the bolts to hold the brakes on to the bosses were not there. I thought I would be able to use the ones off the old...

Bone headed question #4 ---- Pace RC36 and brakes

Marin man was correct. Simpler to remove the shims with a 2mm hex key than take a photo. Many thanks Marin!!! However, there is a second question now. Anyone know what the correct thread size i need to obtain for to hold the buggers on the bosses? Ones off the old forks is way too big...

Bone headed question #4 ---- Pace RC36 and brakes

Have recently got a pair of RC36 forks. Have cleaned them up, polished them and now fitted them to the frame. I was starting to get carried away thinking it was just about ready to start building it back up when I encountered a problem. How do you fit V brakes? The mounting bosses do not have...

Suggestions for a first time project

Lewis, I had seen DrS on his Yo Eddy and thought. I like that idea. Giving something just about dead a new lease of life. Did not want to spend big money but thought I could tidy something up, braze on brake mounts and cable guides etc. Learn as I went along sort of thing. The Klein has been...

Suggestions for a first time project

Cheers for the advise Si, They seem to have plush travel. Was very surprised by that! Have already gave the drop outs a good polish, made one hell of a difference for just five minutes work. Like-wise the two bridge (for want of the correct terminology) pieces and the mounting areas. Will I...

Suggestions for a first time project

Here is a pic of the forks I am intending to fit. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Are these in keeping? Would like some advise on taking of the bridge pieces and brake bosses to clean up and polish. See pics for hard to reach dirt and oxidation:

Suggestions for a first time project

So, got the frame back from the powder coaters. Very happy with the finish. The next thing to address was the forks. I have managed to get some Pace RC36. They seem perfectly serviceable with regards to functionality. Some of the alloy bits, ie. The brake bosses and the two "bridge" pieces...
