    you would be surprised at how crappy some skewers actually are - its all about the grip nuts on the inside and those at the skewer ends - choose wisely - hence Campag & Royce rec. khushy

    Can tub glue loosen base tape?

    tape for me . . . over the last 25 years I have always used tubs on my bikes. Until I started Track Cycling, I also never glued a tub, I always used tape without any issues!!! The ONLY reason I use glue on my track wheels is because of other people, if they see that you are using tape...

    slipping wheel is the wheel the correct size for teh drop-outs - i.e. 130mm? If so - my advice, get some old-school campag QR's and do them up as tight as you can, problem solved. khushy

    RUST . . . is NOT your friend - the thickness of the tubes means that any rust in the wrong places will probably render the frame unsafe to ride! khushy

    My hack! I wanted exactly the same and the only thing i needed was a frame so I asked my LBS who had a good root around and found me a handmade 531 frame unpainted for ........... £50! Granted it was made for skinny 26" wheels, but its brill!
