    Ibis Mojo 1999 - NOS ... up dated 07.03.14

Re: Hey, what diameter seatpost are you using on this frame? I have a steel Mojo frame from the same era--I believe it's a 1997 but might be 98 or 99. Based on internet forums, I thought it should take 28.6 mm, but I've tried two different posts of that diameter and they both rattle around...

1" threaded fork with long steerer (9 3/4")

Need rigid fork with very long 1" threaded steerer: 9 3/4" This is to restore my friend's 1986 Stumpjumper back to it's original rigid glory. ~385 mm axle to crown, for 26" wheels w/canti posts, obviously. US west coast, but would consider shipping from UK/continental Europe.

    Cable Housing

You can use spiral brake housing for shifters, but do not use linear shifter housing for brakes. I have used spiral brake housing for shifters with reasonable results. In theory, your shifting will be less precise due to the change in effective housing length when the bars are turned. See...

    Specialized Stumpjumper Comp - 1989

This one looks pretty much original...I really don't need another bike but I'm feeling the pull to pick this one up since I'm local... http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/bik/3367369049.html

Recommend a lockout fork for me

Looks as if I'm keeping my late '90's Ibis Mojo steel frame, and I will build it up. My concept is to have a light-duty hardtail that I would run on trails, but also would be happy with long stretches on the road to and from trails, with the fork locked out. I would probably run some 1.5-1.7"...

Proper seatpost diameter for 2001 Schwinn Rocket 88?

Bought the bike used, had non-original seatpost, really tight fit. It's 27.2. Is this right?

    Ibis Mojo steel

Hi all--I'm the seller. The repair was done in the shop of Joe Bell, who is famed for his bike refinishing work, especially his excellent paint jobs. The framebuilder who did the work in Joe's shop was Rob R. He built frames at Ibis for several years before moving on, I think in 1997. He...

    1998 (?) steel Ibis Mojo frame 18.5"

I'm selling it on EBay US. I would consider shipping to the UK for someone on RetroBike. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170915289565?ss ... 1558.l2649

    Mojo frame swap.

Just a thought---I recently won a 1998(?) steel Mojo on EBay, but it had a broken weld. It's 18.5" center to top, 22" top tube, frame only, no fork. It does not have the handjob cable stop, so it would be V-brake only. I'm getting it repaired by a good frame builder, and the weld should be...

    brake cable hanger question.....

I mounted one of these on my 1992 Kona Kilauea: http://www.niagaracycle.com/product_inf ... _id=509667 Bolt it to the fork, works like a charm. Compared with the stem-mounted brake hanger, this also has the advantage of giving you a relatively short cable run between hanger and brakes...

    Bikes that just feel right.

I have one of these frames. It felt great when I first got it, set up as a single speed. So I sold my (2002?) Gary Fisher Paragon and tried to build up the Moab as a real mountain bike, with gears. This didn't go well, so I decided to move on to an old full suspension bike (Rocket 88). But...

Where was the 2001 Schwinn Rocket 88 built?

I bought one of these used recently, a stage 1 model. These frames were made in the US, but I don't know where. I believe the hardtail Homegrowns were built by Yeti, but I'm not sure about the full-suspension Rocket 88. 2001 was the last year of the "real" Schwinns, I believe. Does anybody...

WTB or trade (US): 1 1/8" quill stem, 90-100 mm, 25.4

WTB or trade (US): 1 1/8" quill stem, 90-100 mm, 25.4 Got a 1993 Kona recently, it's really a bit big for me but if I can swap the 150 mm stem for a 90-100 mm I should be ok. Looking to buy an alloy quill stem to fit the 1 1/8" headset and 25.4 mm bars, ideally with an integral cable...

    Kona Kilauea--1993?

Thanks TedC and Anthony for your insights. The head tube is 17 cm. Seat tube is 21" (center BB to top of seat tube) or 18 1/4" (center BB to center top tube). Head tube is 17 cm (sorry for the mixed units). How does the Kona tubeset compare with the other sets used around the same time...

    Kona Kilauea--1993?

I just picked up this Kona and I'm trying to figure out what I have. The serial number on the bottom bracket starts with F204. The previous owner purchased the bike new and according to his description the bike should be stock--he was not a bike person. But the components don't match any...

    Diamond Back Ascent 1991 SS

I had one of these--purchased new in the US in 1991. Same exact paint job. I believe it had all Deore DX components--definitely the hubs and cranks, pretty sure the (cantilever) brakes and levers also. It was 7 speed rapidfire. I might have a photo of it somewhere.

    1994 Specialized Stumpjumper

Do you think this is the same frame? Came across this locally--do you think this is a 1994 frame? If so, where can I find the specs (especially top tube length) for a 17"? And will this be a 1" steerer? Thanks all-
