MTB Frame wanted: hardtail lightweight extra small 14" (or abouts)

Looking for a nice frame to build a first 'big' bike for my son. Cosmetic condition not a priority as we can refinish the frame if needs be. But needs to be straight / threads good etc. Budget up to £100. but will consider more for something special. Cheers!

    Reliable MTB parts that last

Yeah. I've become a bit sick of alu chainrings lasting one winter. I use a surly steel chainring. It is too new on the bike to comment on longevity.. but looks the part.

Is this M Trax frame any good?

Was a pretty solid 'overbuilt' rear triangle and dropouts from memory. I mashed and bent the (non replaceable) gear hanger on mine good and proper over the years though though! Moved to using a gear hub to continue using the frame late in it's life. I truly squeezed every last drop out of...

Is this M Trax frame any good?

Mine was branded differently.. but think the Raleigh badged version was something like '450 comp' or '150 comp' '200 comp' somewhere around there.

Is this M Trax frame any good?

I had one of those from new '96. Toured most of the UK on it fully loaded with camping kit. it also commuted to work daily. The frame finally gave in a year or so ago after many years and many thousands of miles.. Seat tube badly weakened. It is a nice cro mo frame made in the UK by good...
