Something to check is whether the chain has any stiff links (how is it joined - quick link?) as that could pop it off the cassette sprocket under load - I had this with my singlespeed and it took far too long for me to work it out.

I don't think I'd be undercalling it if I agreed that had "potential". I suspect it will do very well in BOTM. It's absolutely stunning and one of my two unicorns (along with a Vitamin T)

X-Lite Disco BB's if you can find a set... Still using mine, which were a Christmas present in about 1995 Hope do some modern ones that don't look too shouty I have a black plastic set off my cross bike that are pretty plain and non-descript you can have for nowt.

That's awesome. Shouldn't be hard to just use a pull cord hidden in the seat tube and attach a roller in the BB - with the crank at 90 degrees it should pull enough to pop the light on, then the same for off. Or a downtube shifter with a rotary switch behind it.

Also worth adding your location. Edited to add that they are USE bar ends, so almost certainly a USE bar. Usually see the straight USE bar ends, rather than the ski bend.
