68mm BB shell, yes. I think axle length is based on chainset used.

I found a layback seat post helped more than a long stem did, longest I ran was a 90mm though.

Re: '98 Scott Endorphin morphin' 1st November update Mine has lots of nicks and scratches, but has also had the dropouts repaired as they became unbonded, which is something you should check, as this is apparently a fairly common fault with the earlier Endorphins.

Boils down to personal preference really, both have their merits, both have their short comings.

You'd probably have more chance of finding some rocking horse poop or hens teeth. They do occasionally popup on ebay, but like the sharkfin they won't be cheap. Your best bet would be to upgrade to bearings or find someone that can machine some.
