37 Years ago today...What a long strange trip it's been.

Ok, I was quoting the Grateful Dead in my title. Anyway, it was 37 years ago this very day I got my first bike, and been riding ever since. And I have to say, its been more of an adventure than a strange trip.

    GT Pantera question?

The year is the same as the one pictured (orange-red color - I used to have one 20 years ago). The one I'm looking at has those groovy center pull brakes I hate, so its got to be before 93. Also, the one I'm looking at is smaller than what you have pictured, the one I'm looking at the...

    GT Pantera question?

In that case, I'm going to assume he is getting that measurement also because the AL frames were slightly larger still (at least compared to there steel counterparts). Thanks.

    GT Pantera question?

I'm interested in buying one, the bike in question looks an awful lot like a 16" frame (I ride an 18"), the bike is advertised as a 19" frame (c-to-c). I checked bikepedia and couldnt find a 19", and to my own knowledge, Taiwan GT frames never came in 19", they were 14", 16", 18" and so on...

GT Xizang - GT RTS - Pro Flex 957 - Marin Mt Vision

The Xizang gets my vote, I have a Lightning, so I KNOW that bike rides like a boss...I had a Proflex, a couple of them (856's), one with springs, one with the bumpers - in the end, I didnt like either one.

    gt all terra tequesta ?

Holy crap, thats nice, my second mtb I ever owned was a Karakoram with similar paint but different color - I think my paint was more gray, but it would turn purpleish like you frame when the sun hit it just right. Nice Tequesta.

    Early disk brakes

Shimano: Shimano made them in the mid-late 80's, they were a bolt on type deal and you need a flip-flop hub to use them.

    My bikes

No sir, I've stole a couple bikes in my time (as a teenager/young adult - I turn 42 on the 29th this month) and I'm not proud about the stealing. I have a had a few bikes stolen from me as well, so, I know how it feels, I no longer steal bikes (or anything else for that matter) sir.

    Screwy Ebay Bidders? Possible Shills?

I agree...subsequently, some sellers ask way to much when it comes to price, there is a used Fat Chance on Bay right now and its been there a while, seller wants 6k for it...ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FREEKIN MIND, the bike isnt worth half that (2.5k tops, and I think thats even a wee bit high)? Good...

1994 Grove Innovations Ti with Paul Derailleurs

Wow, that grove is one of the nicest bikes I've ever seen just just because of the part spec...I've often spec'ed bikes in my head with nearly the same specs, Pauls, Cooks Bro's, etc.

Who would you be, if you could be anybody?

Yanno, I was drinking some beer, and getting sentimental, and thinking about this, and I really mis my Grampa Gothro (he died 12 years ago). Although I only spent mostly my summers with him in most of my childhood, he was and is an awesome, guy, he bought me my fist bike, he always treated me...
