Re: Re: About 6mm either side on the stays. I'll be using something narrower if it gets ridden through the winter mud! I think the stays on that Explosif are a bit wider than the ones on my 94 Kilauea, so you may be right about the later frames.

Re: A year later than the official retro cut off, but still in the era where Kona were producing really lovely hardtails with that classic appearance. My '98 Explosif, recently finished with a mix of period and modern bits:

A couple of months back I bought a fork from eBay. Stupidly, I didn't give it a really thorough look over when it arrived. Now I've come to fit it and discovered that some of the thread right at the top of the steerer is a bit knackered. Is that sort of thing repairable?

An old Turner? Horst link four bar design as still used by Specialized and others now, and the DH one they did even has a tenuous link to Kona...

Re: They're 96 P2s I think, going by the colour and the fact they're threaded, ought to be the right length. They didn't go longer than 410 a-c until later.

Re: Nice bike, but then i would say that, i have one too ;-) The thumbies are catalogue spec for a 94, Kona held out a bit longer than others.

Hi Rob, Seat tube is 12.5" centre of BB to centre of top tube. There's an extra 1.5" of seat tube above that. Top tube is 20.5" CtC. Any other questions just let me know :-)
