    Show us your Eroica Ride!

a great weekend. Ok the weather helped but real efforts had been made to improve the practical matters of getting in,parking etc. Looks like some exhibitors dropped out after last years event, but hopefully the decent feedback will get them backfor 2018. See you all there?

Re: i think we are right to "self police" the organisers have little time and i suspect little inclination to get into a confrontation with paying customers checking bikes

Eroica Britannia tickets are on sale

Re: I am persuaded that lessons have been learned from last years event and that the organisers are listening to rider feedback. I have decided to ride and hope we can get some weather like the first two events. I need to remind my body of the "pleasure" of my Raleigh Ace' ride!

Eroica Britannia tickets are on sale

Re: I know Britannia are doing the worldwide marketing, but I wonder how much control they have over the other actual events? would be nice to think that the other events will stay true to the initial concept

Eroica Britannia tickets are on sale

Re: Eroica Brit booked The Italian event is wonderful and although the "Brits" seem to be doing worldwide marketing, the location in the town means they are limited in how much they can mess with it. And my limited experience of Japan makes me think this will be a great event. Jealous!!

Eroica Britannia Moving to Friden Grange for 2017

they are not interested, the marketing is not even mentioning cycling. if you turn up on a Dogma next year and they have sold you a ticket then all is good!

Re: Re: i worked in the motor trade, it was normal for the big buyers to " Instruct" a supplier about extra discounts, payment terms that would be required to keep their business. lets hope some of the manufacturers have the courage to stand up to them. i have changed my view about these...

Eroica Britannia Moving to Friden Grange for 2017

Re: my impression is that they were more interested in numbers and any checking of bikes and kit was sketchy at best. watch them bring out the "premium upgrade" ticket, ride whatever you want and pay them an extra £25!

Re: you are right, but prices moved before the brexit crash of sterling. its simp!y step two of the Wiggle plan to increase profit now they have taken out a major competitor.

Re: have to own up to being embarrased every time I bought from CRC rather than LBS. But the prices, service was just too good! Prices have drifted up this year. Good side of this sad news is my 100% return to LBS!!!!

Eroica Britannia Moving to Friden Grange for 2017

Re: a lot of their marketing and the main "strap lines" dont even mention cycling. They wont make money from classic cycling (and us!) and the move is towards other sectors. Glad that I went to Gaiole and the "real " event 2 years whilst it still had some of its original values. now the Brits...

Eroica Britannia 2016 - anyone signed up?

Re: good write up and reassuring to me that others had similar experiences. I think (to be fair) that I have missed the fact that it is now being sold as a "family festival" whilst i (we) are looking for a cycle event. Glad to have been part of the first two which were really good , with bills...

Have a look at Chris Boardmans goodie bag,he posted a photo on facebook, although training for ten years, winning an olympic medal and tdf wins is perhaps a bit too much effort to get an extra key ring and some minatures of gin!!!!

Re: they were never going to be able to sustain the superb food stops, it was staffed by locals and they are getting increasingly p**sed off with traffic problems in town and the fact that little is spent in town, its all on site now. although i was "lost" after my parking and queing experience...
