Gaffer Tape, Baler Twine, your tools that aren't tools?

Dishwasher as a degreaser/cleaner. Was rebuilding a mate's Kona Coiler, stuck all the rear suspension components in to make them sparkle. My wife was NOT in.

    Magura Louise

I found that hose and fittings were compatible between older HS33 rim brakes and a lever from a 2002-ish Clara disc brake. I built up a Cannondale with disc Headshok on a V-brake frame. Fitted a Clara to the Headshok and had a full set of HS33, so used the rear with it's own lever but it didn't...

    Removing cannondale headshok fork nut?

So nowt to do with the hub or Headshok but turns out it's a security skewer which is the first of it's type I've ever seen. As said above , seems to work as intended.

    Removing cannondale headshok fork nut?

Any idea what hub that is? The Headshok too for more info, don't recognize the dropout. Not seen a hub bolt like that, I assume it isn't quick release at other end?;) Seems unusual that a tool other than a normal hex Allen key would be required to unscrew it. Then again Cannondale did like their...

    Cannondale Super V600. What year?

Had a look on Bikepedia but nothing conclusive but might be as early as '97-98. Check out the serial number and head-tube badge info to date it here https://vintagecannondale.com/info/serial_numbers/

    Baltic Bawbags in March?

Yes, I do have a bad memory. Of that ride 3 year ago. Pushing yer bike uphill, in the snaw, is bad enough but actually getting to top and then having to push it downhill because the snaw is too deep and wet to ride the bike, feck naw. Nae wonder a wee lie down was required every now and again...

    Hope tech brake bleed advice

Instead of removing reservoir covers just crack open bleed nipple on caliper, put rag over it and push pistons back after removing pads. That's what I've done in past when brakes have been previously bled with worn pads then when trying to fit new pads there's not enough clearance.

    Sold Hope Mini no.3 brakeset

The wee widget for brake hose is probably not homemade as I have one stashed away somewhere, maybe still back in original packaging. Worked really well, can't remember where I bought it. I did make my own homemade version though from an old spoke. The bought one looks like yours but the homemade...

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well Jamie. How did you manage to hide the build process from Caleb? I always enjoyed building my wife and my daughters bikes over the years. The sourcing of the frame and all the parts, then building and at the end another bike.

Clubbytrail's 2024 - Not dead, just sleeping edition. Sunday 10th November

Nope, no casualties. Nobody fell off. Think we all increased our colesterol count though after breakfast at clubby's. It was a bit overcast/dull, a bit chilly then the sun came out an hour in. https://www.strava.com/activities/12869564818

    Marin FRS Query

Yes, the one in first link is same as one on daughter's bike. This is the one I weighed and is cracked. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/attachments/screenshot_20231219-133635-png.804805/ My Marin Knowledge spans basically a wee bit either side of years 1998-99. Never had my hands on one in your...

    Getting rid of a mouse

Friends of ours had their own house built several years ago. You'd think being brand new there'd be no access to mice, but they still got in. The garage was their entry point, although separated from house by at least 20 feet the meeces got in via the underground power cable duct to garage...
