Clubbytrail's 2024 - Not dead, just sleeping edition. Sunday 10th November

Nope, no casualties. Nobody fell off. Think we all increased our colesterol count though after breakfast at clubby's. It was a bit overcast/dull, a bit chilly then the sun came out an hour in. https://www.strava.com/activities/12869564818

    Marin FRS Query

Yes, the one in first link is same as one on daughter's bike. This is the one I weighed and is cracked. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/attachments/screenshot_20231219-133635-png.804805/ My Marin Knowledge spans basically a wee bit either side of years 1998-99. Never had my hands on one in your...

    Getting rid of a mouse

Friends of ours had their own house built several years ago. You'd think being brand new there'd be no access to mice, but they still got in. The garage was their entry point, although separated from house by at least 20 feet the meeces got in via the underground power cable duct to garage...

    Marin FRS Query

Sorry, it's cracked. Came on a 17" frame I bought to upsize my youngest daughter's bike. She started off with a 13", then I changed front triangle to 15" when she got bigger. Then again a 17" but used all the components from the 13" and 15" including the swing-arm since the 17" one was cracked...

My First Orange MrO Update 20/9/12

Jeezo, where you been? Might be remembering this wrong, at my age probably, were you riding this at a MacRetro ride down at Glentress? My memory says it was green though. Might have been my first trip down there and I was struggling climbing up to top and you were also finding it hard. ;)

    Getting rid of a mouse

Decomposed in 2 weeks? Aye, right. Way more than 2 weeks, especially at this time of year with cooler temps in attic. We live in an old cottage out in countryside next to fields. Every year in the weeks after harvest the mice having been evicted from their cosy nests, decide it's time to come...

    Marin FRS Query

If it's the one made out of 20mm ish square section aluminium tubes, I've just weighed one I had hanging in shed. It's 1.104kg. That's not including disc brake adaptor. Think it came off a Mount Vision, there's 2 Mount Vision front triangles hanging next to it.

    Wester Ross #192

Surprised there's been no replies, a nice looking bike. Very interesting story about frame and it's origins, its beginnings being not so far from home. Can understand Caleb being proud of his great grandad, what those guys on the Arctic convoys did is seriously impressive.

Show us what you did today, thread

Much the same down here, Kinross, yesterday, misty AM sunny and warm PM. Today round Loch Leven with Keith. Shona and their hound. No sun here today but the cloudbase did rise from roof level to high enough to see across loch to Lomonds from my bit. Yer right, it is a bit quiet in here. Will...

    Removing a stuck reverb

Can't you dismantle the dropper insitu? Removing the dropper's moving parts and screwing collar back on would help prevent the dropper becoming unusable. The dropper would just be a hollow tube you could spray plumbers pipe freeze stuff in to it to cool it down quickly then give the collar a...

    Hope Evo cranks. Fakery?

I'm not going to post it but it is I assume the seller on the offer of partial refund in ishaw's post 39. In order to keep track of this seller I checked him out, he only had a Sram chainring for sale for £40, put it on watch. About 10/15 minutes later got an offer to buy it now for £30...

    Hope Evo cranks. Fakery?

I had similar messages from a guy I bought a set of used RaceFace cranks where taper on DS crank was effed, which he was aware of from his wording of auction on ebay. Ignored him until ebay ruled in my favour for a not as desribed with full refund, return postage label from ebay and he couldn't...

    Hope Evo cranks. Fakery?

If he now wants them back after agreeing to a partial refund where you got to keep them, I would only do so if he now agrees to a full refund. He thinks he's pulled another fast one by getting you to agree to the partial refund, thinking he's got ebay/Paypal off his back and is now going back on...

Another Pitmedden meet up - Sunday 15th October

velo is correct, my ebike, a 2021 Specialized Turbo Levo SL, has 3 power settings Eco, Trail and Boost. Each one can have it's own assist level set via a Specialized app on phone. Think I've got Eco set to 35% which is fine.
