Quick spin earlier, 27.16 miles/43.70km and 955ft/291m elevation. Temps hit 19c with a slight breeze which nearly killed me off even in shorts, very under prepared. Tackled a couple local roads I've always been put off by, turns out they're piss easy. Mostly a coastal route, bumped into some friend outside a pub on the way back, sunk a couple 2% drinks (SchΓΆfferhofer) and headed home. Better make the most of it before the climate remembers this is England and it should be pissing down 99% of the time πŸ˜‚

Pretty much the exact same route up the coast as yesterday, 27.48 miles/44 22km with 1023ft/311m of elevation. Bit quicker this time too at 1h 43m so averaged around 16mph, seemingly managed to hit every single red light possible today πŸ˜‚

Had been getting some intermittent skipping if I was trying to put power down on 34 front 11 rear, figured with it being a used bike it was probably due time to buy a new cassette. Happened to catch local bike repair guy on the way back and mentioned it to him, in a stroke of luck he'd recently had a customer who wanted to upgrade a new bike from Ultegra 11-28 to 11-34 and told him to just keep the old cassette which had probably done 20 30 miles at most. Said cassette now made it's way cheaply into my possession, but of course when it comes to putting bikes together nothing is ever simple for me. Remember the debacle a week or two back where I found the previous owner had been running some Campag BB with Ultegra cranks which then fucked my swap out to 105? Previous owner must've been a Campag fan as the freehub body is one of theirs too πŸ˜‚ Always something, but hey good excuse to learn how to service freehubs/replace the body I suppose.
