Zero BB, lock rings?

I have recently bought an old but unused Ti Zero BB from eBay and it has arrived but there are no lock rings for either of the two cups, are they missing or is this how it should be?

Seller thinks this is perhaps how I'd should be but not sure.

Hi Ash, If it's a 68mm shell, I would say it doesn't need them, how would the fit lockrings? K

That's how they used to come, no lock-rings, If I remember rightly the cups were tapered and so was the shell, they didn't come loose, although a couple we fitted with loctite

Nice one, thanks for your help, I haven't tried fitting it yet but just imagined it would come loose but I guess should it creep a spot of Loctite will stop that. Thanks.

Check the tapers on the axle are aligned. I have one where the cranks are not at 180 degrees to each other - more like 175 / 185 degrees !!

Didn't notice it at first so never sure if it was like that from new or if the axle twisted from use?

Cups don't have lock rings. Never had any problems with it coming loose.
