Is it still possible to source good quality brake blocks for 80s / 90s brake shoes?

I'd like to fit some decent new friction material into the original brake shoes of my Mavic SSC calipers. The originals are rock hard (fossilised :D ) and therefore useless for a bike that actually gets used.

I've seen some NOS but can't imagine they'd be particularly great after 30 years.

Thanks but I actually want to keep the original shoes and replace the friction material so need blocks that slide into the old shoes.

Edit to add: Most of the modern shoes won't fit the SSC callipers properly, the bolts are too wide and long.

Have you looked at the kool stop range ? They make a wide range of replacement pads .Campagnolo ,mafac ,shimano etc .
kindly pointed in my direction only the other week by a fellow forum member .
