Some say people are people and you get the good and the bad but it's more than that, people are on a downward spiral in this country, almost going feral. Yes, you have the decent people who will be decent regardless but they seem to be a dying breed.

Manners and caring about anyone other than yourself has become a relic of the past to many. People's general behaviour is becoming increasingly bad, just look at the standard of some of the driving and, unfortunately, cycling for example.

As far as lack of manners and having no regard for others I blame the internet for at least some of that. It has created a generation of whiny, faux outraged and offended narcissists, and as they can act like that online with no consequences, that has ended up filtering in to real life.

The lack of policing certainly isn't helping. They weren't just there to enforce they were also a deterrent and that has gone. Plus they seem to care more about hurt feelings than real crime, much less effort.

I had a very similar thing happen to my old but very well loved & looked after Passat in my works car park, the wing survived but they peeled most of the paint off the corner of the bumper & put a huge scratch across the brand new headlight. I'd just replaced the pair as they were to dull to polish up anymore. I now have a dashcam with parkmode.
