For the first time today I took my little boy out on a seat on the back of my road bike. It was all a bit twitchy and the braking didn't fill me with confidence so I think I'm looking for something a bit more stable, solid and fatter tyred.

I've got most of the parts for a 26" wheel build but the current frame is too small for me as a general get about. So I was wondering what people had. I'm looking for a versatile, relatively low cost road and towpath basher, 18 or 19", rack mounts and preferably Steel with V and disc brake fittings. So probably an Inbred, but open to good suggestions and offers.

Would also be pleased to swap or use as part-ex the DMR Trailstar frame that I'd be replacing.

Cheers,

Mikey

I haven't got a frame but I can offer some advice.
I built up a bike to take the little ones on and got far to carried away, baby seats and top end thin walled steel tubing don't mix well!
get something cheap and heavy

Re:

Good thought. I was looking at a Kona Kula frame which does have full rack mounts. But what you say could apply even more to thin walled aluminium even if it does have mounts. Might need to keep looking.
