Purchased a set of exotic - carboncycles.cc - carbon flat bars a while ago.

First set arrived, layup looked 'unusual' under the lacquer. Ended up returning for a second set which were similar, possibly the same bar returned in the post. The bars have remained in the corner of the shed unused for the last couple of years.

Pics below. Am I being paranoid? Looks like an unusual layup at best. The brand seem to have a reasonable reputation..

Pics don’t show layup brilliantly but you get the idea.

I wouldn't but then I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to carbon. I returned some columbus minimal forks because the weave looked a bit odd in one place. The replacements look fine but the thought of them failing is still in my mind each time I ride the bike

Never seen a carbon bar like that, nor carbon wrap bars either. True that the forks have a good reputation and have ridden them myself, but still a lapse in QC can happen. Not familiar with these specific bars, so someone else who's had them could confirm if they are normal / suspect.

For me, the moment I have a doubt I know it will bug me and I ask is it worth it? When it concerns anything to do with steering and the fundamentals of bike control I'm on the side of caution and no risk taking.
