Would you ride these - eXotic carbon handlebars

It's an overlay in the carbon mat. It isn't normally that obvious but given that it's just one layer off about 5-10 depending on the weave (not really a weave in this case see, its omnidirectional) used I wouldnt have to much worry about running them. I would go riding rampage woth them, but who would on a carbon bar.
Normally the first layer is made of one piece and when it's not, they are laid in the same direction to ensure no transition like this.

Ot could also be a mold break, but I don't think so as you'd feel it in the gel coat.

You pays your money you makes you choice. If you plan on chucking them, chuck them this way. 🤪

John, shine a torch inside the bar, what does it look like? if theres loads of loose dry fraying fibres then avoid. if the compaction & resin looks even & smooth, then it should be fine.

@Mod-Master thanks for the offer, however the bars are the bike are fine, just wanted something a little wider.

Thanks for thoughts. Suppose most mirror my own, that is not sure so not sure worth using them. Nothing against carbon, had various carbon frames, forks, stems, bars, posts over the years without issue. These do look different in wrap, hence never using.

The laquer is smooth. Looking internal to bars to cracks, frays etc. however some obvious ridges.

I will never save money in stem or handle bar, I like my teeth. I bought some chinese ones and they are strong but have faults so I have cut them ... The tickness was not consisent so probably they will not fail but ... I will not clear the doubt. So I bought a Ritchey superlogic and ... it is great, perfect finish and a bit expensive but I don´t have to worry.

So to follow this up did end up riding them and did get a response to a query with the manufacturer.

Originally fitted to check new stem / bar setup.

Response from manuf as follows via email

Thanks for the photos of your handlebar. My name is Rik and I'm here to help with more technical enquiries. Please rest assured that the bar is totally safe and this is quite normal for UD carbon finish under the lacquer.

The Nature of UD Carbon Layup:
UD carbon layup is designed to have a unidirectional fiber orientation, which means the carbon fibers are aligned in a specific direction to maximize strength and stiffness. This can sometimes create visual irregularities or patterns that may appear as cracks or flaws. These patterns are normal and expected in a UD carbon layup.

Still not 100% convinced 🧐

I doubt they'll snap on you, I'd rest a bit more assured after hearing from them. I usually get happier when I get a Chinese made bargain and the shortcomings seems to be in the finishing, as I delusionally tell myself it means that the structural integrity wasn't where the corners were cut

But I've been told I'm a propagandist for Aliexpress, so take what I say with a grain of MSG
