Thinking of building a simple rack for all the old wheels that I may need some day.

Hypothesizing a bit first:
- for storing in my dry loft with small floor area but ample ceiling space
- as cheap a structure as possible
- as compact as possible
- modular system that can be built upon and expanded vertically or doubled horizontally
- space for min 20 wheels to start, possible to double

1st idea:
- 2x2 inch wood structure, built with deck screws
- 2 levels vertically to start, space for 10 horizontally
- plastic covered metal hooks to hang the wheels and prevent them from banging or resting against each other
- cover with tarpaulin, hanging on nails

any inputs or suggestions?
Build a shelving unit and make the bottom shelf from a sheet of plywood with slots cut into it, like my quick drawing below (obviously cut them straight but you get the idea). Sit the wheels in the slots and when you've used them just put boxes of other junk on the shelf😊

You've made the assumption the wheels will get used!!! ;) 🤣

One thing for certain with us RBers is that once a bit of space appears it seems to magically get filled by something else bike related! :p

My shed is small and that's why it's cluttered and quite a mess at the moment, but I'm glad to have found something in the city at all, especially something affordable.
Unfortunately, for the last months I've hardly had any time for wrenching let alone tidy up...

That's small..
I barely fit 3 bikes and 2 frames and can't turn my fat ass without getting an anal probe.

Let's be real, if it fits 20 bikes, it's not small.

Okay, you're right. Before I was wrenching under the stairs between Christmas decorations. That was small. But compared to some others it's still not as big. In numbers, it's around 30m².

30m2 is a decent space, but if used for other hobbies/activities and storage of other things in life other than cycling, then space can get tight. Especially if you have 20 bikes to start with!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Our 12x8 feet not metres shed has barely enough room for my 1 bike with all the rest of the winter storage
Remember folks winter in Scotland is 11.75 months of the year 🤣🤣🤣

Im so jealous of all these big spaces, but how the hell do you get the time to ride all these extra bikes you have people?
