Winter projects

That has real potential. I'd refit the airbox. Less noise, better running imo
Absolutely. Pod filters are really a bodgers solution. I bought a stock airbox and carb kits to return to full stock settings. It makes me laugh that people think they know better than mid 70s Japanese engineering masters with PHDs. Stock airbox and jetting gives best results across all revs.

Got a Delkevic stainless system ready to go - means I keep the centrestand and access to the oil filter. Motads were the nuts BITD but as you say, hens teeth by now.

Watch this space for a build thread!

I’m working on transforming a recently acquired P7 race bike into a rat build PMX with BMX bars, girvin vectors and possibly a 1x7 drivetrain. As much black as I can find, and a proper parts bin special

Something fun to tinker with and then use next summer to spin up to the brewery taproom.
I have a few winter projects planned. One involves moto bars for my old rat Hardrock. I'm jealous of your girvin plan, that or an amp fork would be the cherry on top.
Another winter plan in the works is a subtle change, Duck Norris to Truck Norris. He'll be gaining some offroad capacity, perhaps even an extra gear or two

Stock airbox gone and replaced with pod filters
This was a great era for Japanese 4 cylinder bikes. I had an 82 Yamaha Seca with quad carbs. Pods made them absolutely impossible to tune. Hopefully the Suzuki system with those lovely mikunis isn't as complex. Another big issue was leaking rubber carb boots, almost impossible to find intact, which is the reason home mechanics would switch to the pods
