Is turning it upside down (to fix a puncture or fit the wheels), dumping it down on gravel and scratching the tops of the brake levers and shifters etc. considered a break? Because thats what some of my friends do to their bikes and would do to a bike I lent them.
Or how about shifting under heavy load? No apparent damage when you get it back, but next time you ride it the chain snaps. It's a grey area, that's why really you need to know who you are lending your bikes too.
want to ride my bike? rather you than me it ghost shifted while negating a rock on my ride home from work last night and i have big purple stem kiss on my knee as a souvenir from the last time it was ridden
