Who your favourite motocycling rider?

My favourite rider is obvious, after all he's the only one with the same surname as me ... Ian Lougher!!

He's been racing for 25 years and hasn't managed to kill himself yet (touch wood!!) he started racing TT when he was 20, is still racing at 45, and he completed his 100th TT race earlier this year ... how cool is that?!?! (And I saw it!! )

He also won both the 125 & 250 Billown races this year at Castletown at the end of the IoM TT, and I was there watching all of it at the start/finish line!!

Go Ian! Go Ian!!

Strange - I'd have expected more of you guys to be into off-road stuff, given the obvious connection with mountain bikes.
A couple of real retro names for you anyway, and right up to date, on the enduro side of things, this guy who lives a few hundred metres down the road from me.
I went to school with his late father (the original Knighter) and rode in trials with him too. He was always a better rider than me though, and his two sons are in a different league altogether....

I just noticed on recent posts this year that there is a few motocycling race fans on retrobike and wondered who is your favourite riders whether it's current motogp or past history riders

All time favourite rider is Kevin Schwantz '93 World Champion, and also liked Alex Criville, '99 World Champion

Current Motogp riders is Jorge Lorenzo and Nicky Hayden

Who do you like?

Schwantz was always my favourite, too.
