With respect KDM, your question has highlighted your lack of knowledge of different economic models, which goes in part to explain some of your previous comments. I have neither the time nor inclination to teach you about the differences between communism, capitalism and socialism, and all the nuances of each. Google is your friend ;)

If your business involved the buying of other people's labour, and selling what they achieved with that labour, that's capitalism as it's defined.

But - and I say this as a communist of the wall-building type - that isn't necessarily a hypocritical thing for a socialist to do, if it's a small business, as living in a capitalist economy you don't get a choice. Even under proper planned economy socialism having some small capitalists keeps the gears greased up. The problem is the big ones, and people who think like the big ones.

As I said...and all the nuances of each. There is no single form of capitalism.

A capitalist is a capitalist if it is within a democratic structure, a little bit of a thief is still a thief.

I mentioned the socialist part because often they are very similar to those who preach from the pulpit of vegetarianism whilst they themselves still claim to be a vegetarian whilst eating chicken.

The idea only labour can save our souls when in many cases the local authorities making the decisions that effect us and our local services, are run by labour local and county councils, is one of selective mutes. By all means chastise in a general election the tories, but don't forget all the way down the chain from the top table down to your local branch, there are people paid handsome money to administer our local services and if there are any failings, the point locally should always be the first point of call but some it seems, want to jump those people and all of the intermediaries and go straight to the top table. They maybe selective, it certainly is less than honest if your true goal is to correct things.

Lol at kdm. You speak with authority but you are clueless.

So its the headmasters fault if their school budget is cut is it? FFS grow a brain.

Re:

Last night I asked Mrs HM who she would vote for. She said Labour. I'll let her stay in power for another five years then.

When I listen to May I don't even hear an ersatz Thatcher, I just hear white noise. When I listen to Corbyn I hear poor delivery, poor execution, poor teamwork but ideals, care and concern.

I know Jeremy won't win but I've never lost the principles I had as young BUAV, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth subscribing 18 year old factory worker who eventually mistakenly got inside the right-wing machine and hated every minute of the misogynist, racist, brutalist, masonic organisation that was the Met in the 80s. I gained my education in my 30s after seeing the light. Got my degree, trained, qualified and have worked hard in the same job for 11 years. I care immensely about the damaged children i work with but due to the increasing wave of cuts to school funding, I've just taken voluntary redundancy rather than hang on until the next round sees me out. Others were not so lucky.

It's twenty years since things could only get better. They didn't. Twenty five since I stood next to Neil as he accepted defeat outside his front door in Ealing. I see the cycle repeating itself. Hopefully the next leader will follow in Blair's footsteps to power, learning from his centre left, Brit Pop, mistakes to create a genuine Labour government with the principles I remember being attracted to over thirty years ago.

Anyway, off home to vote.
