Bought this bike 2 years ago and can't find any info.
According to epinions.com it's from '99, but i'm not sure...
Emailed Jamis and they told me that they don't know :?
Searched the net, but never found another one.
Does anybody knows when it's built?

I seem to remember they did a full on downhill version of the same bike (must have had a different shock etc in it). I had a Jamis catalogue from the year it was made but I've not got it anymore.

Those XT cranks were from 97 > 99 IIRC though so it must be sometime around then.

XT rear mech is the same as on my RTS, which is a 96. The cranks are newer though, as they are 4 bolt.

rear end looks like it came of a muddy fox, perhaps the main body is a custom build by 1 person.

Underneath the saddle is a productiondate, it says 11-97, this in combination with the XT, I think it could be '98

Hi,
I just found an ad in the edition of may 1998 of Mountain Bike.
The swingarm is a bit different though.
It was "editors choice" nominee for Bicycling in 1998.

Thanks! They came in different colours, the swingarms as well as the frame. What colour was the swingarm in the ad?

It's also black but more moto monolink style, rotating around the bb, with an extension to compress the shock.
