Sorry to drag up an old thread but having bought an S&G Muddy Fox MB-MF 26B last year I got a bit more interested and started having a look around the internet trying to get some history together.
Just a few days ago I managed to score a silver MB-MF 26A which at the time was Arayas 3rd from top spec mountain bike. Built from BMX tubing as mountain bike specific tubing was still not available so I am guessing around 1983.
If you are interested in the Araya bikes that S&G cycles imported here is a link to the 83 to 85 catalogue scan for Araya.
http://araya-rinkai.jp/wp/wp-content/up ... 983-85.pdf

Arayas top spec bike at the time was the MB-MF 26DX, if anyone should own one of these I would love to see a picture.

Also if anyone else owns an MB MF26 A I would love to see pics of these too.

Paul :)

I think the top spec bike in that catalogue (at least going by price!) was this one.

Pic of mine last year when it was sunny! Have changed the saddle for a proper Kashimax GTV since then. Will get it out of the garage and update my thread when it’s sunny again.

Re:

What a beautiful Bike! where on earth did you manage to find a kashimax gtv? I have been looking for one for years.

Re:

Kashimax was an eBay find, think it was badly listed, came from Belgium or Netherlands I can’t remember which. It was a bit ropey so was treated to a light refurb.

Re:

That would be amazing to see that bag, quite a rare item now I would imagine.
Must be a wee bit later I guess as its made by Karrimoor in the UK.

Free to anyone with a Muddy Fox with a bullmoose on it (who wants it!).

Hey guys,

i am, i confess, a muddy fox fan :D however it is a great shame there seems to be no fansite of such..well i may regret saying this, but if/when i get the time, (& after ive learnt to use my girlfriends mac) ill be doing a mini fansite of my own..

i do remember, many noons ago, a thread on here (have looked but cant find) where somebody posted some info regarding muddy fox, in the uk, in the early days?? i think he worked for/with them??

it would be really cool if i could get some info/history regarding the brand, & anything else thats relevant, even if its just for interests sake.

p.s its gota be pre 92' (when they got bought out & went cheapo!!??)

thanks in advance,

cristian

I love muddy fox. Not the new ones. Only the proper ones. I have an 87 roadrunner. A 90 seeker mega. And an 89 courier mega. Really want an explorer

Hey dude, if your on FB, look up the muddy fox retro 80s and early 90s group. Drew is on there, a s there’s tons of stuff.

Thought I would add this as I think more interesting stuff has been posted to it now.
