wouldn't have found it in India 50 years ago some (most) people would argue, see origins section http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_tikka_masala, I like the bit about needing gravy, and also that British is more than English, and things evolve.

Bang on! We are in essence a multi cultural nation, and we assimilate rather than segregate. We embrace all manner of world culture, food especially. This is what YetiBoy seem to miss; as he talks about British cuisine as if it is somehow distinct from what is actually popularly eaten here. I ate a beautiful venison stew tonight, made by my beautiful Pakistani neighbour.

Food is an international language. We speak many languages here in Britain. Not just soused herring and flurpin durpin.
