Who can recommend me a sub 500g amberwall tyre ?

I’ve been on weight weenies and been totally thrown by tyre weights And types - and as there are no pics it’s all hard work
The tyres on my Dynatech are really really nice to ride with but they’re heavy -approx 800g each (and I have heavy Continental 26 tubes rather than lighter weight) so as you can imagine The wheels which should be very light are quite heavy.

Any good tips as to which amber wall tyres I could go for? Which wouldn’t be extortionately expensive and which would be available - either retro, modern or re-issues of classics

Good all round use - not slicks, but a grippier semi-slick would do. Preferably sub ~ 1 lb in weight (450g) but would be content with say 560g

I’ve got Smoke and Dart reissue but they’re all black. I hear the amber wall are heavier

You're going to struggle depending on what you want them for... My 1.7 Z max WCS were only just shy of 400g, and they are a very skinny, fragile tyre.

Smoke/dart at around 650g each?

I’ve got smoke dart reissue which are at ~560g on a bike. But they’re all black.

The folding version of Schwalbe's Billy Bonkers in 26x2.1 and with the 'Classic Sidewall' comes in at 490g, according to their website. They roll well on the road as well as offering some grip on gravel/light off-road. Stupid name but a nice tyre.

I'll be buying these for my Cannondale, it'll never go off road, but will be ridden on the streets and slightly rocky tow-paths round here in Cambridge. A bloke round here has the 1 1/4" model on a Zaskar and they look well tidy. Check the weights at the bottom of the web-page. Good price too:

My scale brings an amber wall Dart in around 560g and amber wall Smoke around 630g

The original IRC Geo Claws are light, if you can find any that is. Mine are on a bike otherwise I would weigh them but seem to recall sub 450 grams.

You may want to have a look at Innova Tires from China e.g. via Aliexpress.

I'm using CrossFit tires in 26x2.0 with 470g (according seller 460g).
They roll also great and are very comfortable as the rubber is very smooth.
