Which suspension forks (are the best) circa '94?

Also has anyone modified some retro forks with modern cartridges to good effect??

Judy SL's in my opinion , I think once set uo with upgraded cartridges they are brill fella... but I do have a weak spot for Rock shox..

Pace RC35's work well and always got good reviews bitd. Original Judy's were thought to have moved the game on though. If I were you I'd look at any 1993/94 forks from Rockshox, Pace, or Manitou and decide which you like the look of the most. ;)

I thought Judys too but then again...

I'm trying to decide which fork to put on my Barracuda frame which is en route.

Luckily there are lots of pics of Barracudas with different forks on in the Barracuda catalogue (in the archive). Manitous look good...

The eternal dilemma!

I'm on the fence. I was a Rock Shox hound, loved the look of the Mag21 SL Ti, but I also liked the nice hard lines of the Manitou's, and the EFC had the colour scheme that made me drool..

What forks do you have on your '94 Team Only and your '94 XX? I think (I hope!) the frame on the way to me is one of these...

JUDY are 1995 onwards.

Look in the Archive for the 1994 model fork reviews and decide what you want out of a fork. If you like them to be more reactive to the ground constantly then get some pace/manitou for possibly. If you like them to firmer and take the harder hits then get MAG21/30's of the 1994+ models.

If you don't mind dipping in to 1995+ year then JUDY are a good choice simple choice and a little later the Marzocchi bomber in 1997
But it really is down to what you like and what will go with the bike.
