Which bike shop did you like most back in the day?

Copey

Retro Guru
I remember parting with some (hard earned) paper round money at:

A&M Cycles
Klimbhigh
Stif
Steve Thornhill Cycles (big advocate of the first Kleins into the UK)

What was the name of the shop in Nottingham that imported the early Manitou's and Funks? (In want to say Shockwave...??)

Did any of you guys race for shop teams?? I raced for team A&M Cycles back in the day...

Cheers

Mark

Barretto's in Plymouth (or Plymstock?)

Mainly Hot Pursuit in Totnes. Gone but not forgotten. Ned Overend called in once.

We had a student run bike shop on campus when I was in school. The University of South Florida Bicycle Club Workshop! That's where I cut my cycling teeth. Props!

They are no longer there, unfortunately. Bikes aren't as cool on campus as hip-hugger pants and walking with your i-phone glued to your cheek.

Hot Pursuit was a goody for sure.
Paignton Cycles, first sponsor :)
Chris Hopkins, Teignmouth
Simply the Bike, Torquay
Bikin Motion, Torquay (more recent, but still great)

Same guy managed three of those shops...common link I think!
All helped me out no end many times with kit, bikes, and fun :)

CycleGear Sowerby Bridge, I bet I did (the SB manager) Steve's head in, I went in most nights to pay off my tat, and ask questions! I even got work experience there! :D  seriously I was a good kid and bought both my Trailblazer and Tequesta from there, never liked the atmosphere in the Halifax branch tho.

Also 'Smelly Howards shop' AKA The Hair Team, Hebden Bridge!
This shop was great it was a hir dressers full of fit young birds and smelt lovely, at teh time I think i was still going to crap barbers so didnt get to try the girls out :p but smelly Howard had some great kit in such a small shop. awesome, he bought old bits of us and well predicted the comeback of BMX even in 1992!

Freewheel(?) in Leeds was great, bible like catalogue

Also Stif in Headingley I only went a couple times bit out of my league but well worth two trains and a day out!!
