Where else to sell?

Sad to hear this Peachy and am hoping you are doing OK now.
As for selling, the market for just about anything is almost dead or non existent, not just for old bicycles but also for classic motorcycles etc and I suspect cars as well. I don't think anyone has the money or has the disposable money they had available. With everyday cost of living being so expensive if people have any money they are very careful with it in case things get worse.
Hopefully it will turn around for you.

I think you're right about all vehicles.
Antiques also.
Beautiful mahogany victorian furniture, cheaper than firewood🤯

Guitars are holding up i think.
Oh, and houses🙄

Sorry to hear your having some issues @Peachy! .

Market is bad, but i know lots of your kit is in top condition and people seem to like that.

I would shove them on here and see if you get takers. At least you get an easier less stressy sale, you know its going hopefully to a good home and the lack of fees means you can let them go for a bit less without feeling too robbed by the market and the worlds lack of cash.

Stuff is still selling. You just have to be realistic about price. Most if my kit goes, but then im not looking at ebay as my "dream" price guide! 🤣

Best of luck....and your help with those CB frames is not forgotten. Cheers.

Thanks for all your comments chaps. I’ve resigned myself to moth balling my favourites and just focusing on selling the best stuff in the crates & crates of parts I’ve amassed over the years and giving the mid to lower end kit to a local bike charity.

I’m seriously considering putting my favourites (the Cape Wrath collection) in moth balls and letting my lad sell them after I’m dead 🥳

I'm sure this is a joke, but likely everyone has a story about a sadly deceased relative who left them with a huge disposal job after they passed. I intend to start winding down the hoard - and not just of bikes from the age of 55 (2 and a large bits years from now). I collected this crap, and derived joy from doing so - and will find satisfaction in seeing it find a good home and others enjoy it - even if as is likely, I don't make my money back. In my experience, everything sells for the right price, even if I have to give it away for free. I gave away a nice historic piece to the cycle museum for example, and have helped plenty of locals get mobile with a bike.

Swedish death cleaning is worth reading up upon.

I now need to convince the missus who genuinely has a far bigger problem than I have - both in size of hoard and emotional attachment.

Sorry to hear of your health issues @Peachy! hope you are on the mend.

I'm planning on doing a similar cull as I have amassed far too many 'things', not just bikes/bike parts, and it's beginning to bug me. I'm not emotionally attached to much of it but still would like it to realise something better than rock bottom prices. The first step is to get it prepped for sale, and the second step is listing it, and once I've done that I'll feel a little bit better as I know the process has started.

For me eBay has always had the best audience.
