Where are they now? Is somebody going to write this article

Just been watching a youtube on the 1994 Grundig at Vail and it made me think... where are they now?

Is there a recent definitive article on where they've all gone? What theyre doing these days? their thoughts on the 'golden era' when mountain biking took off? do they still ride? somebody should write that book.

I'd like someone to go back to the birth of the UK scene and find out what happened to us all. Richard Ballantyne was instrumental in getting things started over here, but he passed away last year. Lots of others tho, Greg Oxenham, Rob Chappell, Drew Lawson, Sujato, Ollie, Matt and co from Overburys, too many to mention.

Interesting thread concept. I think quite a few got chewed up and spat out when the recession hit hard in the early 90s and the market started to get flooded with cheap crap full sussers for £99 :facepalm: It just devalued the whole market and people's perception of how much they should be paying for a bicycle. Thankfully prices are more realistic today again and the cycling renaissance looks stronger than ever.

Been thinking about this, would be good to have a book that covers the MTB explosion in they 90's, yk,USA,Europe. The people, the company's bringing out all the cool cnc parts, the explosion of anodizing!

Not so much a book about the guys converting there klunkers with old frames and cow horn bars, but pushing the boundary's of early frame tubeing, the public being the test bed for fancy parts, suspension! Racing, xc,DH, mbuk,mbr etc
Where did some of these company's end up? Where are the guys and girl's that we used to see pics of in the mags before they internet and north shore.

Richard Cunningham (the Cunningham that can fabricate/weld) runs Pinkbike. Chris Chance is a RMT. Gary Klein makes telescopes. Watch any World DH race and you'll see (or hear....) Peaty and Warner. Missy can't exactly go to far from home at the moment due to driving around with bails of weed in her vehicle.... Do you not know what happened to JMC?

Yes I know Steve is still throwing bikes about, and Rob has been back on the box for a while, and Missy.. well life took a turn, and of course JMC.

What I ment was where they are/what they are doing then/now the good the bad the ugly, what happened to various people etc

I did say its the only ones I could think of at the time while dropping the kids off.........
