Well... <are you sitting comfortably? Yes? Good, We'll begin>
in the dim and distant, I would cover for holidays and anything else at our local privately run tip. I didnt accept any payment other than filling my car with stash - a lot of stash, heck, a simple shitload of stuff that others thought was rubbish - from Quad hifi, to Apple Macbooks, I never once accepted a wage
So, bicycles, yes, a lot of bicycles, from an SBDU through to a Stumpjumper with Switchblades, I was the Knowledge so it all came to me
One forgotten Saturday, it was a mint condition Inexternal tubed MBK ladies' racer with Suntour. It was mint. I ended up flogging it to a shop in Cambridge that I used to work at some 10 years previous to the 'incident'.
Anyway (it gets exciting) in 2020 or 2021 some absolute melt suddenly decides that the MBK is the one that was stolen on the same day some 13 years previously. in Bournemouth, a 6 hour round trip
The Melt in question wasnt the issue, I could stand that, the proper good ole' internet trolling of whatever I posted I could also stand (some of it still is on the site). What got the heckles up is that some on here started to believe the crap and that that person wasnt banned or removed from the site immediately. Their accusations were just preposterous and the logistics of stealing an unlocked bike from the front of their house was so laughable but enough to sow the seeds of doubt that I might have actually done it.
That stung.
It was clearly someone who had managed to crack a password or two (I was also being heckled on facebook) and thought it was a good craq to try and hound me off the site or something and so completely preposterous it was beyond absurd
but what hung around is that nothing was done for some time, and not even an apology from the site owner or the mods
So for Sinnerman to be banned or leave or whatever, it had to be something serious. Serious enough to raise the ire of the mods at least because hounding a member and accusing them of outright theft surely doesnt!
