In the past when I've bought stuff from the U.S they've withheld it until I've paid the duty and/or handleing charge :?

My ebay Cinder cone turned up today and they just handed it over to me  I'm not complaining or anything  just thought it a bit odd have they changed the procedure or something :?

Even my wife thinks its lovely

Duty

I think its just luck of the draw, sometimes you get stung and sometimes you dont. I was expecting to take a hit when my Hot arrived from across the pond but hey presto it just arrived at my door instead of that nasty letter from parcelforce. Result :D

Who delivered it? If it came by parcel force or royal mail then they charge you up front. However, Fedex will deliver the item then invoice you by mail later.

Cheers both :) Parcel force delivered it so does that mean I got away with it then

I've got a bike that touched down from the US on Friday and is still listed on the USPS website as being 'with UK customs'. Does this timescale mean i'm going to get stung?? If so, do you pay 17.5% of the listed amount?

Good chance I'm afraid. How much seems to be a finger in the air calculation.
