Coming from a mountaineering background, I never leave cores/skins.

Really? Cores I can understand as you may unexpectedly add a new tree variety to the ecosystem but skins?

I feel guilty now as I've left bits of fruit all over Scotland.

Probably less intrusive lobbing apple cores into the undergrowth, in twenty years you'll be able to pick a snack straight straight from the branch!

Not so pleasant getting to the top of a peak and finding someones decaying banana skin waiting for you.

Don't know why it has been on my mind. Wait, perhaps it's due to every thread I visit, having a picture of them. Time to check out my market's international food aisle; I have to give it a go

When i was a boy, a bag of ichiban noodles, properly crushed, and sprinkled with half a pack of the bag of powder that came with it. Chased with a bottle of water. Good stuff, and enough energy to get home.

You must mean cooked noodles washed down with water after ? or can you just eat dried noodles :? that would be hardcore .

no means for cooking them while on the go- they have to be dried. Just carefully open the bag, remove the powder pouch, crunch the noodles up within the bag, holding the open end shut, then pour a half pouch of the powder into the bag, and shake it up. Consume. It crunchy, tasty, and quick; besides, it cooks in your stomach.

Don't knock it till you try it, don't I wouldn't try this with any other kind of noodle, besides Ichiban original flavor. Anything else, would just be gross
