Coming from a mountaineering background, I never leave cores/skins.
Really? Cores I can understand as you may unexpectedly add a new tree variety to the ecosystem but skins?
I feel guilty now as I've left bits of fruit all over Scotland.
Probably less intrusive lobbing apple cores into the undergrowth, in twenty years you'll be able to pick a snack straight straight from the branch!
Not so pleasant getting to the top of a peak and finding someones decaying banana skin waiting for you.
