What's the best MTB 7 speed rear mech ? .

Re: What's the best 7 speed Shimano rear mech ? .

Easy. M650 Deore DX. For performance, coolness, looks, durability, restraint.

Shame the bigS. is losing the plot constantly, at least for me. Just managed to collect a NOS/new (either taken from new bikes or NIB) DX groupset together, so I'm rather biased, but that's gonna be my own gold standard, just to demonstrate to rookies, the golden days are gone forever....

Re: What's the best 7 speed Shimano rear mech ? .

Thanks for the tip fearfactory as i have been looking online at some of the old Deore DX's but i'm not sure just yet whether i'm going down the retro route or the modern route just yet although retro would suit the crankset although i had been thinking about campag but not seen anything that looks tempting enough tbh .

If shifting is a problem just at one part of the casette, I wounder if it hapen that there is same probem I had on a bike earlyer this year. In the end it had 7 speed shifters but a rear wheel whit a 8 speed casette! Can also be a adjustment thing also.

Thanks for that bit of info keny as that's given me something to think about although tbh i can't remember what brand of chain it is although it is suppose to be for a 7 or 8 speed hmm ? so i think i'm going to investigate that next .
