On Sunday I bought two bikes for parts and for renovation

Merida - full STX and rear mech LX, 3x8s
Scott - LX, Scott and XT rear mech

I bought a tatty looking Black 17" Orange P7 a couple of weeks ago. Fox Vanilla 32, Avid with 160 mm front and rear, 3 x 9 all XT, Hope rims, Panaracer 26" rubber and Raceface chainset. It was cheapish at under £140 (ime). I was undecided whether to smarten it up and move it on for a small profit or px but after one ride I was really impressed with how it rolls and the XT changes so smooth.
So I'm thinking now of keeping it as my main ride/runabout. I've already fitted some Magura 203mm discs which has improved the braking. Should I also fit the Magura MT5 brakes from my old Cube? I'll keep all the old parts in case I decide to sell it on at some point.
