Not just about the money. He'll be riding home at 5mph with the wheel bumping every revolution and unable to corner. That maybe bearable if home is 2 miles away, but if it's 20, then that's proper pain

These are off eBay but found several sets in my grandads spares. He used to ride to a race on his road wheels then put his race wheels on when he got there.

So did I. Lived in West Cumbria with plenty of narrow hedged lanes

I’d agree with Argos for a respray. They did a great job, Straightened a slight kink in the top and down tubes as well.

My current favourite is Shimano Sante. It's a poshed version of 6400, but I think it would look great on this colour frame. Not STIs though, but good indexed.
