If you started from scratch again...

I read others stories about the mental clutter. That is an issue and occasionally I'm a bit overwhelmed. I've worked hard this year to tie up loose ends and am winding down the collecting for sure. The plus side of this activity is I've sh*t loads of nice bikes to ride. This has definitely helped my head and I find myself looking forward to the next build.
You are a great example to us all @Guinessisgoodforyou !!! 💪😍

Being able to ride the bikes is SO important. wall art/garage queens look cool, but I'm a cyclist not an art collector.

My eternal frustration has always been having bikes that are hung up or jammed up in a corner covered or surrounded by tools/DIY materials so I can't do anything with them, plus they keep getting damaged without even being used.

Buying stuff is so much easier than selling stuff which always tips the balance one way and we all know what that is... ;)

Thanks Tim I think the jury's out on that. If I get my pants on the right way round it's a win🙄

I get dressed in the dark most mornings not to wake the wife (early morning dog walks) and pants on backwards is more common than you think! But in this cold weather once they are on, they stay on! Plus I have some of those stupid shaped socks with Jimmy Cricket L and R on them - can't see the letters on them in the dark either! 🤣

I've pretty much given up and am selling off the retro things I don't need / was keeping just in case.

I've enjoyed acquiring and restoring some bikes that were important to me when I was younger - I really enjoyed the Zaskar for example, but the fact is when they are built they don't get ridden and I don't have somewhere to display them or dry enough to store them.

So I've ended up with two retro bikes

* Rocky Mountain that gets used as my commuter and is very comfortable
* posh Bontrager race which is scandalously attached to the turbo trainer as its a bit too low to ride (unless @benjabbi wants to sell me his titec riser bars)

I do have a bunch of posh modern bikes - (Ti adventure / gravel , carbon XC full suspension and hardtail / alt bar thing)

I think the next thing on the list will be a light weight ebike - the Creo 2 is really appealing.

So love motorbikes. Haven't had one for quite a few years now. Would love another, or two 🤣 but they take up even more space, money and time...

My clean cut was due to my daughter being born and not wanting to risk it whilst she’s little. (Had a fairly big accident in 2015 which wrote off my first panigale). I was tempted to buy and keep a couple of investment /ornament types but decided to sell up in the end. Only thing I kept was my helmet collection.

So if I find a couple of dodgy characters in the garage one night, calling each other Gary, trying to nick my bikes. Then Chris @Imlach and Dave @novocaine, with Bob @Guinessisgoodforyou outside in the getaway van are prime suspects? 🤔
@slackboy Matt, the only Titec risers I have are some Hellbent XCs which I thought I'd seen on one of your bikes at one point? They're not on a bike at the moment, so I'd probably sell them if they're any good to you? They've not got that much rise though to be honest, maybe 15-20mm.
