What were the 'bees knees' of canti brakes in 1994?

For function, avoid " low profile " models of cantilever....

Shimano invented this new problem of " trail clearance " for the brake ( forgetting there was an even more sticky-outy component behind the brake called a " leg " ). Wide or " normal " profile cantis...

have a much better leverage and stopping power than the low-profile ( or, closer to the rims ) cantis.

One of the great ironies of poorly performing " low profile " cantis was that about 2 or 3 years after they were introduced Shimano launched their ( ripped off of Marinovate ) V brakes; making them seem like an even greater brake than the humble cantilever. :roll:
 
onza ho's were pretty good at least till they cracked
might be 95 rather than 94 tho
 
I had Paul's Stoplight MCs around that time - a red and a blue set with the parts mixed up :oops:

Anyway - they were good brakes, really nicely made and lovely to set up. They (or the lighter, pricier Stoplights) would be a good candidate.
