What v / canti brakes???

So for no particular reason I'm thinking of building up a light 26er SS racer out of parts I have accrued over the years. I have KCNC V1 brakes but although they're very light, the levers really make my fingers go numb. What very light (tarty) brakes are worth considering as an option.
Then the only really trick part missing is a 16" SS steel, non disc frame...

Plus an eccentic BB or ENO hub I have a full set inc levers of non tarty Avid Arch Rivals aswell if of interest.

Have a look at a pic of KCNC V1 levers. They're quite minimalist, it's like pulling on cheese wire....peeps used to (and still do) race steel frames, in fact the only races I have won were on steel framed bikes. I've tried titanium and aluminium but prefer steel.....

CTK, a v nice frame but I have some lovely Chris King hubbed wheels and a Ti BB I want to use so it would need to be SS specific......and I brake (get it) Avid Arch Rivals too easily, best of luck with your sale.....

Someone suggested Ultralever 2's and use them with the KCNC, that's a possibility....goes off to research.....

Wrap the lever arms in some old inner tube for comfort

Latex tube of course for minimal weight.

More seriously, regarding the frame, something with proper horizontal track type drop outs might be tricky to source. Are you looking to run suspension or could an older mountain bike frame with forward facing drop outs work?

Also, which flavour of steel? Reynolds, columbus? is 853 really much lighter than 653 or 531?

I don’t run suspension. I guess I’m still trying to find a IF, Soulcraft Plowboy, De Kerf, or one of the Spot frames I sold back in the day.. I guess I’d even look at a Ti frame, if I had to....
