What to do with my orange??

Those RC35's look to be in good shape and if you are going to put them on this I think you are right to stick with the black frame if it's going to have orange writing maybe add a few other orange touches.

Continental did a few MTB tyres with an orange stripe down the middle, coloured tyres are one of those marmite things I think but personally I love 'em!

Paint doesn't look too bad to me :? If you do get it re-painted I'd check out a local powder coater. They'll be able to match the colour no worries, the finish will be tougher and it'll only cost about 50 to 60 quid.

Think there'd still have been thumbies in stock in 1994 so they could have been fitted from new.

First jobs I'd do would be to change the saddle and get some amber wall tyres. A polished Syncros stem would look well too.

Yes the RC35s are pretty mint, and I have the MXC decals to put on as well.
Have thought about a Syncros stem and seatpost but couldnt decide on silver or black.
The paintwork has got plenty of chips out of it so will need doing at some point. Just want to make sure I can get the decals cut and powder coating is deffo the cheaper option.

@ Brocklands, I have a feeling it was you that posted the ebay pic on this website. I came across it when I had already bought it.

I'd just be happy & ride it, maybe change the saddle, but otherwise just enjoy it and contemplate your next project.

I normally prefer black Syncros but think I'd go with polished on a black frame. Contact gil_m for new decals. If he has not got yours I'm sure he could make some up. :D

Could well have been me that outed the bike on here. I spend far too much time looking at Orange's on ebay.

Powder coating

A lot of powder coaters carry a matt/satin black. that is much toughr than standard gloss coats and would suit this better, it's designed for high impact areas like motorbike and race car frames, it's more flexible and less prone to chipping.
I had a '98 finished in this and it looked and rode superbly.
Had most steel hard tail brands, and a clockwork matches or betters them all, for ride quality and handling.
