What to do with a Dogs Bolx

Mister Price

Dirt Disciple
Hi all,

My dilema is I have my trusty Dogs Bolx in classic white/black stays. It's all totally in period from 1994. Not a modern part in sight.

16 1/2 frame (made for me at 5ft 11") and Roberts stem
Pace RC35 suspension + Ringle Superbubba hub, Mavic head set
XTR shifters and brakes
Pace RC130 bars, Xlite stubbies, ODI grips
XTR cranks, XT SPD with Ti spindles, Pace inner and middle XTR outer.
Campy Atec rims with Smoke lite tyres (rear is new) alloy nipples, Ringle skewers
Xlite seat post + Flite transalp seat
Hope 8-speed rear hub XTR 8-speed cassette
Other bits to trim out (red anodised bolts, Ti chainring bolts)

It all is in pretty good order and works just fine (I ride it every now and again, four times this year). I raced in 94 and 95 and eased back being married and kids!! Under 24lbs and £2500 back then

Now I don't know what to do with, ride it, sell it, hang it on the wall, or shout about it on this great site that honours flat bars, bar ends and hunched up racers!

Comments welcome

keep it and ride it, even if its just the the odd ride at weekends or with a retrobike group on one of our days out.

Not a bad first post if I may say so!

But you haven't told us why all that constitutes a dilemma - your problem is what most people would consider an opportunity. In particular, if you explained *why* you have only taken that nice bike out for a ride four times in the last year, it might become clearer what your next steps should be.

Or are you hinting that you don't find it quite as comfortable as you did sixteen years ago, but you can't quite bring yourself to change it to make it more comfortable?

Ride it like you stole it!!!

Oh, and share some pictures with us. You cant mention a pimped BOLX with RC35's and not share pictures!

2 options:

a. give it to me

b. leave the wife and kids at home every once in a while and just get out and ride it.
