What state is retro biking in at the moment?

The Facebook site (not connected with here) seemed to be really picking up a couple of weeks ago, but they've started deleting posts with lower value bikes in and every other post is moaning about the deletions! I think people prefer going on Facebook rather than forums now?

I'm hardly ever on here as I am so busy and don't have time.
Interesting point. Google it and a lot of other forums are saying the same thing, visitors down etc, facebook to blame.

Re:

Yup, old here too. Did not even know FB had a site. Looked for it and still don't know it has a sight for retro bikers. But I am pleased in this community.

I can't imagine the facebook site could be as good as this one. I'd also quite like my retro bike obsession relatively hidden from some friends and colleagues...

It's not, it is fine for up to the minute quick chat, what used to be called a Bulletin Board 'wall', but a bugger for anything else. Good for events though and organising things. Naff as an archive for information, at least retrieving it is a pain.

It's all generally hidden from others depending on setting. Unlike this forum you can make it private.
Google communities (google+) is better though and does events better too. At least for people who use the android phones or chrome browsers.

Forums can be good to. For this sort of chat is does it really well. But it needs updating to a more involved modern setup to keep events, information and people updated all the time if they so wish.
Otherwise forums just stall.
There is no easy way to mass communicate to say riding groups, there is no way for events to be added to people phone Calender's or ask if they want to come on a ride (aka give people a nudge)
Let alone the lack of ease of getting pictures on here.

But well I'm used to all that from the late 00s and early 00s so stick around. Modern smartphone crowds who are use to it all being just there just do not bother no matter how much we try to drag them here.

Only just got rid of my crayons. Still have my fountain pens though.

Is Facebook worth it? I have no friends that I want to share with.
