E-bikes also have a lot to do with it. These type of bikes were popular with riders doing winch and plummet style enduro trails. Most riders you see round here are now doing this on e-bikes. You can get better suspension performance if you don’t need to build in pedalling efficiency and more laps if you have a motor. Lots of these riders kept their normal bikes at first but are realising they only ever ride E and are selling their old bikes en masse.
That pile of junk is from China, it is the way they do things. Some one think it is a good idea and other bigger companies eat them.
And in some europe contries they have tried to do the same. Here in a junkyard they have 3000 bicycles from a rent bicycle system that didn´t work. And they don´t care, they are big in his country and 3000 bicycles is nothing. It is a quite bad bicycle share system , all the streets full of bicycles because the more you have, the most probabilities to take one of your company. Imagine to send that millions of bicycles to Africa and celebrate the best chrismast ever: All people with one free bicycle.
