It's true, it's a smug replica of an HR Giger designed group set. We're a long way from the elegance of the Record 10 speed Titanium which was definitively the last piece of brand new Campagnolo I'll ever buy. Shame

I think the market for smooth polished aluminium components was drying up for quite a while before C decided to go CAD futuristic carbon/plastic matt black, er, a bit like Sram?

They were quite slow to adapt last time, c1990, and no doubt their new products looked awful to the lovers of the previous design era.

I would say Shimano adapt more frequently but in smaller steps - campagnolo seem more settled and traditional, until a sudden necessary leap into the present.
