What footwear do you use on flat pedals

Past couple of years, Etnies Maranas on DMR V12s. Have virtually lived, commuted and biked in a pair for a year in most weather. Not really suited to mud-plugging though but great everywhere else.

How did you decide on what size to get.

I've ordered 2 sizes. I'm usually a size 9 in casual trainers but cycle shoes i'm around a 10. So i've got a 10 & 10.5. The 10 feels very snug but if I kept these is hope the padding would give a little. The 10.5 feels comfy but I'm thinking will they be to big once the padding has worn. So basically not sure which to keep lol

I've a pair of freerider elements, can't honestly say that the padding has compressed at all - still feel the same as they did.
